ABOUT US
Caren Moirongo and Monica Gitahi born in Kenya and now living in Stuttgart for some time met Nick Odhiambo at a Stuttgart fair-trade show while performing in a theatre project. At the time Nick lived in Kibera, one of the biggest slums of Nairobi. He worked at one of the children's centres, the »Paradise Community Centre« (PCC).
During a visit in Nairobi 2015 Caren and Monica got to know the PCC on-site. So overwhelmed by what they experienced, their wish to support was instantaneously. They were able to persuade friends and colleagues of the idea to financially support »Paradise Community Centre«. The next logical step was the founding of Huduma kwa Watoto in 2017.
The close relationship between the persons on- site and the NGO members enables a personal communication to facilitate an uncomplicated and prompt direct support.
In the meantime our field of activity has expanded and we support further projects.
Our NGO currently consists of fourteen members. It meets regularly to discuss current topics, to report on the children's centres and other projects and to plan and strategize next measures.
Our organization is organized on an unsalaried basis. So we guarantee that every donation is directly invested in the project. Members afford administrative costs and travel expenditures themselves.
